Flintlock Gun Maker ... Dwayne Butler builds fine 18th century period flintlock
rifle and shotgun replicas. Dwayne hand makes his barrels, stocks, trigger guards,
buttplates, and most other parts of each gun.
Dwayne built the 12 gauge shotgun shown above a few years ago. It features true-to-period styling
with a beautiful tiger stripe maple stock and browned barrel. Dwayne bored the barrel with a lathe and
cut the octagonal flats and barrel taper with a milling machine. He inletted and shaped the maple
stock with a milling machine, files, and sandpaper.
